Lazarus of Moultrie was founded in 1947 by Mendel Lazarus. Mendel and his wife, Maxine, operated the store for many years before their son, Steve Lazarus came back home from college to take over the family business. Steve has since taken the general clothing store his father started and turned it into one of the most diversified clothing stores in the region. He always strives to have the best products at the best prices. In 2009, Nathan Cashwell came to work for the company as part time college help. After many years of assisting Steve with the store, he purchased Lazarus from the Lazarus family in 2021.
